Community Health Clinic
Providing accessible and affordable healthcare for all.
About the Clinic
A healthy community is a resilient community. Green Society Nepal established a local health clinic in Sauraha to provide essential primary healthcare services to residents who may otherwise lack access. Our clinic is a vital resource, offering affordable consultations, basic treatments, and first aid.
We organize regular health check-up camps, focusing on preventative care and early diagnosis. Furthermore, our team conducts health and sanitation awareness programs throughout the community to promote healthy living practices and prevent the spread of disease. The clinic serves as a cornerstone for the overall well-being of the people we serve.

Impact and Future Goals
Reason for needing: People living around the town of Sauraha and in the Tharu villages are in a marginal income group. Due to the lack of education and finances, they do not have regular check-ups. The nearest Hospitals are 20 k away and it is difficult and expensive to travel. They go to hospital only when they are completely ill. Sometimes it is too late, causing more serious illnesses and sometimes death. This could be prevented by check-ups in the early stages of an illness. In recent years the Terai area of southern Nepal has also been affected by an eye disease, The GSN Health Clinic will treat this virus.
Objectives: To build a Health Clinic to serve the local community and Tharu area. The building is 60% completed. What is needed to complete.
Funding and Staffing The GSN will treat patients free of charge. Funding for equipment and running costs will come from GSN main Donors from Germany, Africa Luz and Global Eye Mission (GEM). In addition, Nepali Doctors and Nurses will offer services free of charge by agreement with District Hospitals, and a Volunteer program for overseas doctors from Europe, Australia and USA to work on Placement for a few months each year will be in place.
